Hempseed Oil vs CBD Hemp Oil

What is Hempseed oil? What is CBD hemp oil?

The confusion between hempseed oil and CBD hemp oil typically originates from where they are extracted; the cannabis plant. CBD Hemp oil can be extracted from the flowers, leaves, and stems of the cannabis plant, while hempseed oil can only be extracted from the seed of the cannabis plant.

Products containing hempseed and CBD hemp oils do not typically cause a high, since the levels of THC, if any, tend to be exceptionally low.  These products, by law, can have no more than 0.3% of THC.   Psychoactive symptoms would be nonexistent at this concentration of THC.

What are the benefits for anxiety?

Hemp is loaded with essential vitamins and nutrients like vitamin E, magnesium, zinc, calcium, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids, which helps our body combat anxiety and boost brain function when added to our daily regimen.

CBD hemp oil has shown to be a natural stress reliever and anxiety reducing agent. CBD oil elicits a response from our brain to release Serotonin, a hormone that affects our moods and behaviors.  The extended release of this hormone could improve a diverse array of emotional issues we see daily; these include anxiety, stress, and even depression.

Does Hemp Oil make you feel sleepy?

CBD oil related products should not make you feel dizzy or tired at all.  Sleepiness or a sense of euphoria are symptoms typically associated with products rich in THC.  CBD related products typically have a THC concentration of less than 0.3%, which isn’t a high enough concentration to induce this “stoner effect.” Be sure to read product details for more information!

Why is hemp legal is all states but CBD is not?

In 2018, The Farm Bill passed that made production of industrial hemp legal in the United States.   Any hemp-derived CBD product with a THC percentage of less than 0.3 percent, is legal on the federal level but is still illegal under some state laws. Marijuana-derived CBD products are illegal on the federal level but are legal under some state laws. Check your state’s laws and the laws of anywhere you travel before using.

In Nevada, for example, CBD is legal at both the state and federal level.

How Do I Know if I’m buying a CBD or Hempseed Oil Product?

Since CBD hemp oil and hempseed oil are in the same cannabis genre, they are often marketed as the same thing.  CBD, as an ingredient, is generally more expensive than hempseed oil, and thus CBD related products tend to be more expensive. Manufacturers can increase their product prices by marketing their products as if they contain CBD. The best way to distinguish what you are paying for when purchasing a cannabis related product is by looking at its listings.  Hempseed oil will be listed as cannabis sativa seed oil. CBD will usually be listed as cannabidiol, full-spectrum hemp, hemp oil, PCR (phytocannabinoid-rich) or PCR hemp extracts.

In closing…

CBD oil gives people the independence to treat themselves with a natural, non-habit forming, homeostatic remedy.  CBD could lessen the costly need for potentially harmful prescription drugs.  Recently, CBD has become the forefront of scientific research resulting in experts all over the world uncovering the benefits and effects of CBD oil on the body’s physiological system.  Although this is a relatively new area of study, there have been no serious side effects recorded with excessive CBD oil use.  It is not possible to overdose or become addicted to CBD oil.

It is worth noting that there is still a lot about CBD that we do not know.  This is a relatively new area of advanced study.  So far, however, there seems to be no serious side effects associated with taking CBD.  As the industry grows, researchers will likely conduct more studies on cannabis, including marijuana and hemp, as well as its derivatives.  Stay tune for all up to date CBD info through our website.
